J. GASTON

Hailing from Atlanta, Gaston is a classical street scenery and figurative artist inspired by the classical humanist style. He primarily works with oil on canvas, skillfully incorporating elements of watercolour and fresco to blend classical imagery with contemporary techniques. Gaston honed his fresco technique under the tutelage of renowned art director Zaipianoes in France and has devoted over three decades to researching humanist drawing and painting techniques.

Gaston’s subjects often include street scenes, storefronts, and gatherings from France, Venice, and Quebec, Canada. He enjoys sketching during his travels, later enhancing these initial sketches with his unique painting style.

His artwork has been exhibited worldwide, including in Europe, the United States, and Canada. Besides leading workshops on classical traditions, Gaston has also taught sketching at the New York Academy of Art.
